Objectives

The rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining are fundamental human rights. Understanding why these rights are important to investors and how well a company is upholding them is often a challenge. On November 29th, the CWC will launch "Shared Prosperity: The Investor Case for Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining". This event is part of the annual CWC Conference and is open to the public. The report is the fruit of a multi-year collaborative effort by trade unions from around the world.

The launch event will include participation from frontline workers, company representatives and investors. It will describe how value is created when workers exercise their labour rights in permissive corporate environments and how investors can engage with companies that undermine the fundamental labour right to freedom of association.
