Supporting statement
In accordance with the resolution approved by the shareholders in May 2021 on TotalEnergies’ ambition for sustainable development and energy transition to carbon neutrality, your Board of Directors has committed to report to the Shareholders’ Meeting on May 25, 2022 on the progress made in the implementation of this ambition. This report gives an account of the implementation of the strategy and the progress made in 2021 with regard to the objectives for 2030, and also completes the Corporation’s ambition, in particular by setting targets for the reduction of methane emissions and emissions linked to the use of petroleum products by our customers worldwide (Scope 3 Oil) by 2030, and by describing what the Company’s activities would be like in 2050, reaching net carbon neutrality, together with society. This report also explains how the Corporation considers the International Energy Agency’s Net Zero scenario in its ambition to move towards carbon neutrality, together with society.
