Collaboration to Engage Asset Managers on Decarbonization Stewardship
Join fellow asset owners engaging large asset managers on their decarbonization strategies and stewardship, and in supporting their role in mitigating idiosyncratic and systemic climate-related financial risks to clients. This is part of a broader series of engagements, which will kick off with a webinar (register) on June 27.

Additional context: Earlier this year, BlackRock announced its plans to develop a stewardship option for clients interested in aligning investment objectives with the low-carbon transition. BlackRock planned to “take insight” from interested clients in order to develop the policy, but reached out to only a portion of their clients.s. All clients interested in such a strategy have the opportunity to engage in order to ensure that the policy offered is one that works to mitigate company- and portfolio-level climate risks. It is also an important opportunity for other asset managers to follow suit and offer such a policy to their interested clients.
There are two aims:
increasing client participation in the development of and subscription to existing and upcoming decarbonization strategies, and;
increasing the number of asset managers who offer decarbonization policies to their clients.
Immediate opportunities for engagement: the collaboration will kick off with this webinar, on June 27, 11am ET / 4pm BST
