The UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights invites all institutional investors to feed into its global UNGPs 10+ project, which is taking stock of implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to date and chartering a course for the decade ahead. See 'Description' for details on how investors can become involved.
The UNGPs are the authoritative global standard on business and human rights, unanimously endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council in 2011. The 31 principles set expectations of States and companies about how to prevent and address negative impacts on human rights by business. The Guiding Principles apply to all States and all businesses -- including institutional investors. They are being implemented by companies, governments, and stakeholders worldwide.
This project is a rare and influential opportunity to share practical experiences and strategies for the road ahead from the investor perspective. It provides a platform for further centering the investment community within the business and human rights field.
