Revised Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA)

Last month, the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA) Committee released a draft revised Code, open for public comment until 31 January 2021.The PRI is preparing a response and we encourage signatories to respond also – feedback to the consultation draft should be emailed to corli@sixcapitals.co.za.
Collaboration details
The PRI considers the text of the code a significant and welcome step change in responsible investing in South Africa. However, as we consider our response, we expect to recommend that regulators focus on implementation. Without regulatory monitoring and oversight, the code is unlikely to have the intended impact in transitioning towards more sustainable investment activities.
