Nature Positive for a Net Zero Future (20 September 2022; 09:00-10:30 EST. Please register for in-person attendance here).

The COP26 Presidency and the Finance and Deforestation Advisory Group, with support of the Global Commons Alliance and the Club of Rome, will host this event to highlight the opportunities for the private sector to reach a net zero and nature-positive future, and hear more from the signatories of the Finance Sector Commitment to tackle commodity-driven deforestation.

Event description: This high-level event will highlight the opportunities for private sector breakthroughs, action delivered and tools to reach a net zero, nature positive future and demonstrate how action to address deforestation is a powerful lever to support and facilitate success in connected climate and nature-based efforts across the globe.

The Finance and Deforestation Advisory Group, with Capital for Climate, will host this event to feature opportunities for at-scale investment available now to accelerate the nature-positive net-zero transition, as well as actions taken by finance institutions and corporations are managing deforestation exposure risks (including the Finance Sector Commitment letter). Several current Signatories will join the conversation to jointly support this effort.

Event description: This roundtable event shows the interlinkages between science, financial risk and investment opportunity in the land use sector. From managing risks to deforestation exposure, to transforming agricultural supply chains through active ownership, to accelerating at-scale nature-positive financing, the event brings together leaders across finance, business and science to show how nature is a critical ally in net zero delivery.
