Many financiers and insurers have since published Arctic exclusion policies for relevant sectors. With some officials in the U.S. now pushing for drilling expansion — including into the Arctic — it is critical that American banks maintain these exclusions.

The letter will be delivered privately to each company and aims to demonstrate to corporate leadership that maintaining existing exclusions for drilling in the Arctic has support from investors — a perspective that several companies have indicated would be useful to hear.
