FTSE 100 Climate Transition Plan Shareholder Votes

1 member

CCLA and LAPFF invite investors to support a letter to FTSE 100 companies (excluding investment trusts) encouraging shareholder votes on climate transition plans at 2027 AGMs or beyond. Now in its sixth year, the initiative builds on growing momentum, with around one fifth of the FTSE 100 already providing such votes.

Collaboration details

CCLA and LAPFF are inviting investors to support a letter to FTSE 100 companies (excluding investment trusts) encouraging them to provide shareholders with a vote on their climate transition plans at their 2027 AGM or a future meeting.

This is the sixth consecutive year of engagement on this issue. Last year, investors representing £3.1 trillion in assets under management supported the initiative. Around one fifth of the FTSE 100 now offer shareholders a dedicated vote on their climate transition plans, and this engagement seeks to build further momentum across the market.

Shareholder votes on climate transition plans are an important governance tool, providing investors with a clear mechanism to express their views on companies’ strategic responses to climate-related risks and opportunities, and supporting long-term resilience and accountability.

A copy of the investor letter can be found in the 'files' section of this collaboration.
