The bill, if passed, would require specific state contractors and subcontractors to have No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) policies, to certify compliance and to disclose about it publicly.

This would create needed transparency and incentives for NDPE policies, mitigate tropical deforestation and potentially offer investors an opportunity to invest in tropical-deforestation-free government bonds.
